John McGory
International author and award-winning teacher John McGory created the American Speech Company in 2019. The company works with professionals and students from around the world on improving English-speaking abilities.
The oral English specialist taught at Jianghan University in Wuhan, China starting in 2014, with the 25,000-student school naming him International Teacher of the Year in 2015 and 2018 for his work teaching English to college freshmen.
The Seeking Balance author’s experience includes English consulting with Wuhan companies such as CITIC Bank and Johnson & Johnson-China and serving as language editor for the Hubei Province’s largest English newspaper, Changjiang Weekly.
McGory honed his English-speaking skills as spokesperson and speech writer for the Ohio Supreme Court and as a lobbyist for a large business association before starting his educational consulting career.
He holds a Masters’ degree in journalism from Ohio University’s prestigious E.W. Scripps College of Communication and Journalism and a Bachelor of Science degree in education from The Ohio State University. He has guest lectured at six American and Chinese universities and numerous companies.
The author serves as CEO of the American Speech Company which produces business, education and government seminars and consults with companies and individuals to grow through the power of English.
