Who we are

Our English-speaking philosophy

A philosophical backbone gives a person, book, or company a system of values and reality to follow in a particular area of study.  Here is our English-speaking philosophy.

The American Speech Company, and my book, Seeking Balance:  The ultimate guide to English-speaking excellence for the shy, foreign, and frustrated, follows a theory regarding the act of speaking English.

The book lays out the basic beliefs, concepts, and attitudes of what I believe to be the core elements of communicating well in English.

The underpinnings of our English-speaking philosophy involve the ideas of acceptance, balance, and change in speaking English.  I call this the ABC philosophy.

Let’s break it down for you.

The ABC philosophy

  1. Acceptance:  Effective communicators accept who they are and where they exist at the present moment. They embrace now.
  2. BalanceEffective communicators balance thoughts, ideas, time, and emotions in any situation.
  3. Change:  Mindful communicators carefully listen, seeking positive change when and where necessary.  Positive communication changes lead to improved balance in the mind, body, and spirit.

Our ABC philosophy provides an easy-to-follow approach to acceptance, balance, and change, the qualities that improve an individual’s English-speaking ability.  We promise to uphold this philosophy in all of our services.
